Auto GP - Charouz-Gravity Racing to add Esteban Guerrieri for French round - (09.07.2010)

French track Magny-Cours hosts the fourth round of the inaugural AutoGP season this weekend. The Czech-Luxembourg team Charouz Gravity Racing is regular entrant and has prepared a slightly changed line-up for the event.

The whole Europe suffers from tropical heat and the forecast says that it would be the same for the weekend at Magny Cours. The French round will turn the season to the second half.

The Charouz-Gravity Racing team has entered two regulars Jan Charouz and Adrien Tambay and they will be joined by Esteban Guerieri. The Czech and Argentine driver raced at Magny Cours three weeks ago in the World Series by Renault but that weekend was compromised by changeable weather conditions. Adrien Tambay would love to put in a great performance on his home turf although he has not got big experience with the track.

Esteban Guerrieri has been racing in the World Series by Renault this season where he is currently fourth. The Argentinian won three races and took one second place in the WSR. Tambay won AutoGP race at Imola which was the first win of the Charouz Gravity Team in the AutoGP while Charouz was on the podium in the last race at Spa-Francorchamps. Natacha Gachnang is going to miss the event as she is still recovering from the broken leg sustained in the opening qualifying of the GT1 World Championship. She returned at Spa but felt that she is not fully fit to drive at the highest level such powerful car like AutoGP.

Jan Charouz: “I know Magny Cours from previous years and I also raced there where weeks ago in the World Series by Renault. It was not great weekend so I hope it will be better this time. I know well our new team-mate and I think that he is going to strengthen our team. The weather forecast is good because I want to race in the dry. I will try to repeat result from Spa-Francorchamps.”

Esteban Guerrieri: “First of all I am happy that I have got an opportunity to to race in the AutoGP championship in such a good team like Charouz Gravity Racing. As far as results are concerned I do not have big expectation before my first start. The most important will be to learn quickly about the car and to drive it as quickly as I can. I will do my best to have a good qualifying and then we will see. It will be different Magny Cours comparing to the WSR weekend because it will be very hot and it means that the tyres will suffer most.”

Adrien Tambay: “It is going to be my home race this weekend but Jan and Esteban know for sure the track better than I do because I raced there just once. However, it is still going to be a special weekend for me because I will race on home ground and of course I would love to fight for podium in France. The whole team put in a big effort in preparation for the event. I hope that we will not have any problems and will get result which will bring us back to the fight for the title.”
